A diva campaign to increase Chlamydia screening in Tameside and Glossop has led to the area achieving the second highest score in Greater Manchester for its screening figures, placing the area seventh in the North West and 43rd best nationally out of a total of 151.
The ‘Spend a Penny Gain a Fiver’ campaign saw 18.7 per cent of young people aged 15-24 screened for Chlamydia in Tameside and Glossop following a high profile campaign to raise awareness of the Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and improve access to screening opportunities. Delivered for NHS Tameside and Glossop, the campaign featured a mix of live roadshow events in town centres and FE colleges, bus, taxi and radio advertising, and articles placed in local media.
